Lemon no Mi
Every morning Maiko Ida dreams up a new meal to serve at her Sendagi eatery, Lemon no Mi, where the single-item lunch menu adds a mix of anticipation and excitement to each visit.
Born and raised in the area, the former florist arranges seasonal produce into home-style dishes served on an eclectic assortment of collected and self-made ceramic tableware.
Rather than abiding by any strict rules, Ida simply creates the kind of meals that she loves to eat, whether it be chicken steak or grilled fish, sautéd vegetables or a hearty soup.
All is revealed upon stepping inside the renovated former residence, where the distinct lack of menus is an invitation to ask: What’s for lunch today?
